Trello And Slack

Trello Benefits
First and foremost, Trello is very easy and intuitive to use. You can put all nuggets of information in every card, and the interface allows in-line editing. It may involve lots of drag-and-drop controls for managing the cards, lists, and boards. It is accessible from any browser, which means that you can access it from your laptop, tablet, or even smartphone. However, there are mobile apps for iPhone and Android devices, if you don’t really fancy using the web browser.

You can send comments and attachments to a card. It is where collaboration takes place. However, there is neither direct messaging nor custom channels. So, you can say that the communication features are somewhat limited.

You can add labels to help you categorize cards. Later, you will be able to search for specific labels and filter the results. The searching feature is fast and powerful. It has sophisticated operators to help you narrow the search results.

Trello has various integrations available – these integrations are called “Power-Ups” – but you can also make your own by using the Developer API. All data are sent through a secure SSL/HTTPS connection. The vendor has encrypted off-site backups, too, in case of an attack or disaster.

Trello Pricing
One similarity between Trello vs Slack is that they each provide a free version. Trello’s free version already enables unlimited boards, lists, cards, members, and attachments. That’s awesome. It already includes basic integrations for Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox, and it allows file attachments up to 10 MB. Although the allowed integration is limited to only one per board, this free version is already sufficient for simple management needs and personal use.

The Business Class costs $9.99 per month, it increases the file upload cap to 250 MB and removes the integration limit. You can use various other integrations such as GitHub, Evernote, Salesforce, and Slack (yes, there is an integration for Slack!). It also brings custom board backgrounds and stickers, additional control features, and priority support. Finally, the Enterprise tire is custom-priced to bring advanced security features and personalized assistance.

About Slack
On the other hand, Slack is basically a messaging app which brings all of your team communication together to one place. In addition to providing real-time messaging, it also provides archiving and searching features. So, you can have all of your team communication in one place that is instantly searchable and available whenever, wherever you go.

Slack has integrations for dozens of external services, and the number of available integrations only keeps increasing. There are internal and external sharing options so that you can easily receive and send files. The searching, sorting, and filtering features also work on these files. You can filter the search results based on relevance, time, or file type in order to get exactly what you need.

There are full native apps for iOS and Android devices. These mobile apps have read state synchronization. When you read something on your mobile phone, your personal computer will know about it to automatically mark the messages as read.

Slack Benefits
Modern teams can benefit from a unified communication hub which collates all channels and stores all conversations in robust databases so that they can be easily searchable. That’s exactly what Slack offers. The dashboard is very intuitive and easy to use. Even if you have never used a similar product before, you can quickly understand the interface by yourself.

Trello And Slack Guide

Slack is built around a channel format which enables you to go quickly form asynchronous to synchronous communications. Its highly customizable notifications make it possible for you to jump in and out whenever needed. The centralized and searchable archiving is especially very useful. Not only the people on the team today, but also the ones who start next week or next year will be able to read the archives to get the knowledge needed regarding the projects.

Slack provides both desktop and mobile apps, which means that you will always be able to communicate with your teammates even when you are on the go. There are various integrations that you can easily add to your workspace, including GitHub, Google Drive, Dropbox, Zendesk, Trello, and all main social networks.

Slack Pricing
There are four pricing plans on Slack. The difference between the free versions of Trello vs Slack, is that Slack already includes two-factor authentication capability and allows up to ten integrations for the free version. It also provides searchable message archives for up to 10,000 of the most recent messages, two-person voice/video calls, and 5 GB cloud storage.

There are three premium plans. For all of the premium plans, the annual subscription is cheaper than the monthly subscription. The Standard tier costs $8/user/month ($6.67 if billed annually) to provide unlimited message archives and integrations, guest access, group voice/video calls, additional control features, and 10 GB cloud storage.

The Plus tier costs $15/user/month ($12.50 if billed annually) to bring real-time active directory, 99.99% guaranteed uptime, user provisioning and deprovisioning, compliance exports, and 20 GB cloud storage. The Enterprise tier costs $49.99/user/month, billed annually, to bring free native apps for macOS, iOS, and Android devices, unlimited external integrations, as well as detailed usage statistics, reports, and analytics.

TrelloSlack
- More for project management- More for team communication
- A neat, intuitive interface with boards, lists, and cards to represent projects, statuses, and tasks- A clean and simple interface with communication channels
- Send messages and attachments on specific cards- Public/private channels, project-specific channels, and direct messages

Conclusion
Trellovs Slack are two different things. If you need a collaboration platform with project management capabilities (task assignment, progress monitoring and control), Trello is the way to go. However, if what you need is a powerful team communication platform with public/private channels, project-specific channels, and direct messages, Slack is the way to go. You can also use both of them because they have integrations for each other, and they both have free versions!
